Shades Of Soul are delighted to announce the inaugural London Blues Festival this year from 15-22 May 2011.
The festival will be held at many venues throughout the capital and will highlight the extraordinary talent both from the UK as well including international artists based here in the UK. It is good news for London and Blues music! Shades of Soul are curating the festival and look forward to developing the festival as annual event in the busy live music calendar of London.
It is intended to support the renaissance of the Blues and develop further it’s profile and popularity.
Shades Of Soul frequently promote Blues events in and around London and run the hugely popular Ronnie Scott’s Blues Experience show every month.
Guests have included Jack Bruce, Joe Louis Walker, Earl Thomas, Matt Schofield, Earl Green, Marcus Bonfanti, Sharleen Hector, 24 Pesos and Laurence Garman.
We have a number of other events currently being planned and hope to announce these shortly.

Would like to bring to your attention BABAJACK,an Acoustic,Blues/Roots ,Duo /Band from Malvern.(Although Acoustic ,they have a great groove, and are very rhythmic) BABAJACK always give 100%+, passion, energy and dedication, but above all its the all round quality of delivery that has to be experienced!
Bec has a voice to die for ,she also plays Stomp Box and African Drum, and Cahon,Trev plays Dobro and Wine Box Guitars and Rack Harp,as a band they are accompanied by Mark on Double Bass,Trev and Bec write all their own material,(Also throw in a couple of covers from the masters ie. Leadbelly/Sleepy John Estes, etc, about 2- 3 per gig)
I was so impressed by what they do,i now do PR work for BABAJACK e-mailing ,and contacting venues to try and help ease their work load, and help in their quest to spread their wings across the UK.and beyond
For the last 3 years they have organised the acoustic stage at Upton. The Wine Box Guitar is featuring more in their sets! Check the web site http://www.babajack.com Their present Album Exercising Demons, was voted in the top 20 best Blues albums in Blues in Britain and Blues Matters ,last year. They are heading back into the studio in November, to record their 3rd album, ‘ROOSTER’ Due for release in March 2012.They are in the process of signing to Cross Boarder Blues record Label,(affiliated to Blues Matters Magazine),for music distribution.
They played Skeggness Rock and Blues Festival in Jan ,this year and were invited back for 2012 !
We are always looking to fill dates in the diary no matter how far in advance.
